Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Shit's about to get real

So I'm halfway through the first week of my second year at the uni and from the looks of things, I'm in for a crazy ride. This semester I'm doing Painting 2, Photography 1, Life Drawing and Art theory. Every subject seems much more intense than last year's, which doesn't surprise me, but the people I'm studying with seem much different from the ones last year. Like, they emit this professional aura and all appear to know their stuff well. I definitely can't screw around and I'll probably be intimidated by their skill level, but I also can't help being super excited.

Also I'm probably getting back to working with traditional media because Painting 2 and everything.

Being occupied with school stuff also means I'll have less time to work on my comic, but that doesn't mean it'll be put on hold. I'll keep the thing going on a regular basis, although the updates won't come as quickly as I've been cranking them out the last 2 months. To anyone out there who's been keeping track of Comatose, stay with me! :'D
